Ep 12 – IS YOUR NATURE TO PROTECT? – Mike Pannone
Nov 23, 2021
PODCAST CATEGORY: Executive Protection
Are you a born Protector? Someone who risks it all for another without hesitate? What would you do if you could not even protect the one person you know best – yourself?
Meet Mike Pannone, a former operational member of U.S. Marine Reconnaissance, Army Special Forces (Green Beret) and 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force) as well as a competition USPSA pistol shooter holding a Master class ranking in Limited, Limited-10 and Production divisions.
Mike suffered a blast, lost an eye and endured 20 reconstruction surgeries to his face. Mike shared with us at the Protection Symposium 4.0 in Miami that he recalls using a nickel to recover in his hospital bed by throwing it on his bed sheets, and repeatedly reaching for it to teach and train his body in depth perception. This was just one thing he set his mind to conquer so he would not be a victim in life, beyond the blast.
Having no other option but to medically retire, Mike pivoted as a high-risk contractor overseas. Despite all he suffered and lost, Mike’s machine like determination and commitment to training helped him survive, and protect his own ability to make a livelihood. He now spends most of his time training people all over the world (more than 39 weeks a year to be exact).
Mike is an expert in surviving violent altercations and gun fighting, with expert insight on mental conditioning, theories and assumptions in tactics, and skills competence.
On today’s podcast, Mike shares his thoughts on what mentality is needed to have a growing career in protection. If you wanted to know what is the secret to excelling in high-risk environments – class is in session.
Ladies and gentlemen – Mr. Mike Pannone.
